KAPITA is a private sector development company that aims to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through investment, research, incubation/acceleration, and market development programs.
In order to upgrade the Iraqi ecosystem, KAPITA is working on new startups development, helping established Iraqi startups and small businesses to scale their (market, production, and evaluation), as well as personal development for entrepreneurs. KAPITA is taking the next logical step, by starting the first incubator and accelerator in Baghdad that hosts the most promising startups, providing them with seed funds, infrastructure and business services, financing and public relations. We will support the community by enhancing the entrepreneurial movement, building youth capacity, and feeding the private sector with human resources and knowledge-based, well-planned successful businesses.
We aim to be the institute that forms the core engine in developing the private sector in Iraq, we believe that to accelerate the growth of ecosystems and Entrepreneurs, there must be a core engine that grows fast in order to cause an overall growth and development to take Iraqi startups and small businesses to the next level.
Professional competencies:
Professional experience in Senior M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities of international development projects.
Good knowledge of private sector development, start-up, and scale-up
Experience in designing, implementing, and operating project M&E systems from project initiation to closeout stages.
Experience in designing and managing beneficiary monitoring and database systems.
Experience in strategic planning and performance measurement, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and performance monitoring plans.
Fluency in speaking and writing English, Arabic is required
Strong writing skills and ability to produce quality reports in English is required
Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g. qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies.
Experience in planning and managing surveys.
Experience in developing and refining data collection tools.
Experience with data quality assessments and oversight.
Experience in managing and providing training to target beneficiaries.
Ability to facilitate and serve as project liaison for externally-managed evaluations.
Ability to perform a variety of conceptual analyses required for the formulation, administration and evaluation of projects.
Develops high levels of credibility and accountability
Role and responsibilities:
Develop the overall M&E framework for the project, for example, mid-term project review, impact assessment, final evaluation, and develop project Performance Monitoring Plan with relevant data collection systems.
Participate in preparing project progress reporting, project mid-term review, and final evaluation.
Analyzing M&E information for programs to provide recommendations for program optimization in the form of reports, factsheets with useful statistical analysis and presentation (charts, tables, histograms, box plots) as necessary.
Lead the development of the Beneficiary feedback and complaints mechanisms
Assist in the revision of the project log frame matrix, particularly in the areas of performance indicators and their measurement
Assist in the development and/or finalization of the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
Review the quality of existing data in the project subject areas, the methods of collecting it, and the degree to which it will provide good baseline statistics for impact evaluation.
Develop baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators.
With collaborating partners, review their existing approaches and management information systems and agree on any required changes, support and resources.
Develop a plan for project-related capacity-building on M&E and for any computer-based support that may be required.
Organize and undertake training with collaborating partners on M&E as required.
Check data quality with partners.
Maintain and administer the M&E database; analyze and aggregate findings.
Identify areas where technical support to project partners is required. Organize refresher training on M&E for partners as required.
Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project.
